My Markets News has partnered with numerous Farmers' Markets in British Columbia to provide an Email Reminder Service for Market Shoppers. The email is sent to shoppers two days before each market day and contains a list of vendors and their products, as well as entertainers, special events and other market news.

The Email Reminder Service was tested by seven Lower Mainland markets on a trial basis during the 2008 summer market season, and extended for the 2008/2009 winter season.

The Email Reminder Service is being expanded to other markets (19 and growing). Currently over 2,800 shoppers have registered requesting over 14,000 Email Reminders each week. That’s a lot of shoppers planning their market visits to purchase your products, and to ensure they have sufficient cash.

My Markets News charges a vendor fee of $2.50 for each day a vendor attends a market, $0.50 of which is provided to the market to use for other market promotional activities.

You will be billed each month, on a single invoice, for all the markets you attend. The vendor fee provides:


your business name and products listed in the pre-market Email Reminder sent to every shopper registered for that market; and


your inclusion in the Internet-based searchable Farmers Market Vendor Catalogue currently being developed. Shoppers will be able to find you all year round. You will have access to the catalogue to update your product list, contact information, etc.

Information about your attendance at markets will be received directly from the market managers.

You only need to register once, regardless of how many Farmers Market locations you attend.
